St Enoch secures trio of lettings

Canadian property investment company Ivanhoe Cambridge has signed three new operators to its recently extended 765,000 sq ft Glasgow shopping centre, St Enoch.

Restaurant operator Nandos has chosen the scheme to open its first restaurant in the city.

The 1,840 sq ft plus mezzanine restaurant will open onto St Enoch Square with a double height frontage and outside seating.

The restaurant will open in March.

Independent fashion operator Xile will occupy a custom-designed ground floor 2,340 sq ft shop in the new mall, near the entrance at Buchanan Street and Argyle Street.

Xile has 11 stores across Scotland, including the G-Star shop at St Enoch Centre.

The new shop is due to open in the spring.

Designer jeweller Ortak will open a new 1,280 sq ft store opposite H&M in March.

Yvonne Carr, Ortak’s retail director, said: “Our decision to open at St Enoch’s was based on its great location, the design layout and the high calibre of retailers that it is attracting.

Glasgow is one of the UK‘s top shopping destinations and the new-look St Enoch development will enhance the city centre’s retail offering even further.

“We are excited about the move and look forward to welcoming new and old customers alike to our first concept store in Glasgow, which we are confident will be a huge success.”

Richard Kingston, vice president of leasing for Europe at Ivanhoe Cambridge, said: “Since opening in November the mall has traded exceptionally well and these new deals stand the shopping centre in great stead as we enter the next phase of our redevelopment process on the first floor, targeted for completion late spring this year.

“We look forward to announcing further more retailer names in the coming weeks.”

Cushman & Wakefield represented Ivanhoe Cambridge; Jones Lang LaSalle represented Xile; Smith Cole Wright represented Ortak; and Nandos represented themselves.
