St George is proposing a circular glass, residential 50-storey tower on the furthest western corner of St Georges Wharf, on Londons South Bank.
The Times says it will completely throw out the scale of the river and everything around it.
The newspaper says Lambeth planners should remember that the Thames is not the Hudson, just as London is not Manhattan, when they come to consider the scheme.
