St Modwen has appointed Remco Simon to the newly-created role of director of strategy and research, in a move designed to help it “deepen the company’s knowledge of and engagement with its core markets”.
From September, Simon will report in to St Modwen chief executive Mark Allan. The role involves supporting capital markets and investor relations activities, as well as developing insights from across the business and the wider sector to inform and develop strategy.
Simon was most recently head of real estate equity research at Kempen & Co, where he managed the international team. Prior to this he was a director in the equity research department at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Allan said: “Our recent strategic review confirmed the group’s significant potential in both its commercial and residential pipelines. Ensuring that we develop and maintain an in depth understanding of the changing markets in which we operate will be key to maximising this potential.”
