St Modwen has submitted an outline planning application to develop a new residential community in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.
The application, which follows a public consultation, comprises up to 190 new homes, built in three phases, on two parcels of land bisected by Newmanleys Road, to the north-west of Nottingham city centre.
Demolition is already underway to clear the sites, which were previously the Beamlight Automotive Seating manufacturing facility.
The first phase of development will include 40 new houses on a five-acre site, while the second and third phases will deliver up to 150 new homes on 15 acres of land.
David Dodge, senior residential development surveyor at St Modwen, said: “Regeneration of former brownfield land, such as at Newmanleys Road, is a key part of the emerging Greater Nottingham Aligned Core Strategy and this development helps to remove pressure on greenbelt sites whilst supporting the delivery of new homes that are very much required in the local area.”
