St-Modwen-logo-THUMB.jpegSt Modwen and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation have won planning for new accommodation for medical staff working with injured military personnel at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine in Birmingham.

The building will provide 180 rooms, catering and support facilities for staff based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Mike Murray, senior development surveyor at St Modwen, said: “In addition to providing new facilities and infrastructure, we are creating a greener, cleaner environment for everyone at Longbridge.”

Construction on the residential facility, located within St Modwen’s £1bn new community at Longbridge, is due to begin later this year.

Other St Modwen projects include New Covent Garden Market, SW8, and the regeneration of more than 2,500 acres of former industrial land in South Wales, which includes the delivery of the first phase of Swansea University’s £450m Bay Campus.
