St Modwen Developments has won planning consent for the redevelopment of a former steelworks on the the Shepcote Business Park in Sheffield. Birmingham-based St Modwen is developing the 11ha (27 acre) site in a joint venture with British Steel.
St Modwen’s development surveyor Simon Rutter said: “This is one of the largest remaining development sites in the Lower Don Valley. It is capable of providing 46,500 sq m (500,000 sq ft) of industrial and distribution space.” St Modwen is currently negotiating with three occupiers looking for over 3,700 sq m (40,000 sq ft).
