Stakis, the Glasgow-based hotel and leisure group, has signed up as operator of a IR£17m four star hotel in Charlemont Place, Dublin, Ireland.
The company will lease the 194 bedroom hotel for 21 years on completion in Autumn 1997 from Charlemont Properties for about IR£1.19m pa. It also has an option to acquire the freehold in 2005 at a price which will not exceed the development cost.
This will be the hotelier’s second Irish hotel. Stakis is currently building a 130 bedroom four star hotel near Belfast.
- Jones Lang Wootton is seeking offers in the region of IR£2.5m for St Helen’s House, off Stillorgan Road, Dublin. The vacant Georgian property and its 1.8ha (4.45 acre) site has full planning permission for a 150 bedroom hotel. The vendor is Berland Ltd.
JLW’s Niall Healy said: “The Irish hotel industry is booming, particularly in Dublin. There has been a great deal of interest in St Helen’s from hoteliers and from some embassies. We will definitely achieve the guide price.”
