Stanhope/Schroders consult on revised East Croydon plans

Stanhope and Schroders today launched a public consultation on new plans for the Rushkin Square site next to East Croydon Station.

The application is approximately the same total size (900,000 sq ft of office space and 550 new homes) as the previous Stanhope/Schroders scheme, which already has planning consent.

The new outline application, which includes a new bridge and a direct route from the town centre through the Ruskin Square site into East Croydon Station, has been produced in collaboration with Croydon council and the new East Croydon Masterplan.

The application will include a new home for the Warehouse Theatre and restaurants and shops to serve the local community.

It will include a public square and  routes across and through the site.

A first phase of housing at Ruskin Square could be started to coincide with the expected opening date of the new footbridge in 2013.

The consultation is being held at the Ruskin Square marketing suite on the 11th Floor of AMP House in Dingwall Road, Croydon this week.
