The major redevelopment of Liverpool’s redundant Stanley Dock is expected to be approved by city planners next week.
Dublin-based Stanley Dock Properties, owned by Harcourt chairman Pat Doherty, aims to transform a 1m sq ft Grade II-listed former tobacco warehouse into 335 “live/work” units, plus 44,000 sq ft of offices, 10,000 sq ft of shops, 9,000 sq ft of bars and restaurants and 36,000 sq ft of public exhibition space, designed by Darmody Architects.
The developer is expected to submit further planning applications in 2012, with a view to redeveloping two additional warehouses. The site was previously subject to redevelopment plans by Surrey-based property company Kitgrove in 2008.
