Developer Stannifer and construction group Amco Corporation have formed Stannifer Amco, a JV aimed at expanding the companies’ respective presences and developing retail-led schemes throughout the North.
The JV is based in Leeds and will be headed up by managing director John Parkinson, currently md of Amco’s property arm Amco Tolent Developments.
Parkinson confirmed that Stannifer Amco is already working on plans for two mixed-use schemes with a combined value of £300m. “We’re looking at large inner city regeneration schemes. Both schemes are in major northern cities – one is retail-led and the other is leisure-led,” he said.
Parkinson continued: “We’re looking to expand into the North as a whole, from Nottingham to the borders and west and east of the Pennines. We’re opportunity led, geared up and ready to react.”
