In a remarkably steady 12 months to August, which saw no change in the top four and disposals down by just 1.8%, it was the narrowing gap between the top two that took the headlines.
In the end, it was JLL’s acting on the 80,000 sq ft prelet to Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer at One New Bailey in Salford that helped it take the top spot, despite Canning O’Neill working on 53 deals to JLL’s 37.
New entrants in the top 10 were Cushman & Wakefield, at number seven, and Bilfinger GVA, which worked its way up to eight by working on the 56,000 sq ft prelet to Addleshaw Goddard at St Peter’s Square.
Going up: Obi Property
Shifting from eight to fifth place, despite the steadiness at the top of the table, OBI managed to shoulder its way into the top five, at the expense of Matthews & Goodman, by upping its disposals and deal numbers.
Staying the same
JLL, Canning O’Neill, CBRE and Savills all held their places from first to fourth, though the gap narrowed, with JLL and Canning seeing their take-up fall, and CBRE and Savills increasing theirs.
