Stoford and Modus get green light for Stafford scheme

Developers Stoford and Modus have won consent for their £23m redevelopment of the Tipping Street site in Stafford city centre in the West Midlands.

The mixed-use scheme will create a new business quarter comprising two six-storey buildings housing 150,000 sq ft of offices taken by the county council for headquarters, and between 15,000 sq ft and 20,000 sq ft of shops.

The car park on the site will be demolished.

Staffordshire council deputy leader Robert Simpson said: “The scheme aims to act as an economic catalyst, setting off a chain reaction of investment and new jobs at a time when regeneration is most needed. This is a real opportunity for Stafford and Staffordshire to position itself as a primary growth point for the Midlands.”
