Stoford gets Redditch nod

Stoford-logo-THUMB.jpegBirmingham-based developer Stoford has been appointed preferred development partner for the £70m Redditch Gateway scheme in Worcestershire.

Stoford will work alongside landowners the Gorcott Trust and the Homes and Community Agency to deliver the 70-acre Redditch Gateway, widely regarded as one of Worcestershire’s most ambitious industrial and office development schemes.

Plans include more than 1m sq ft of mixed-use space, comprising offices from 10,000 sq ft and large industrial/warehouse units of up to 300,000 sq ft.

A planning application will be submitted to Stratford-upon-Avon district council in September and, subject to consent, infrastructure work could begin on site in summer 2016. The first phase of development is earmarked for completion in early 2017.

The Redditch Gateway site is bisected by the A4032 and is adjacent to the A435.

Dan Gallagher, joint managing director of Stoford, said: “This is one of the key employment sites that will make a substantial contribution to Worcestershire’s future economic prosperity.”

“Such is the interest in Redditch Gateway that we are already talking to potential occupiers keen to take advantage of the site, which is close to both the M40 and M42.”
