Birmingham-based developer Stoford has been appointed as preferred developer by the Spetchley Estate to deliver a £120m technology park in Worcester, West Midlands.
The 70-acre development site, located close to junction 6 of the M5, will house up to 1.5m sq ft of new employment space and has been identified by Worcestershire county council and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership as one of four key employment sites to drive the county’s economic future prosperity.
The appointment means that work on off-site highway improvements is likely to start before the end of this year with further on-site infrastructure being built by the middle of next year.
Stoford has now appointed planning consultant Barton Willmore to submit a reserved matters planning application by early November.
The developer specialises in occupier-focused development. Between 2012 and 2014 Stoford had over 1.5m sq ft of prelet space under construction throughout the UK.
A public consultation on the proposals will take place at Tibberton Village Hall on Saturday 11 October.
