Stoford Developments has today won planning consent for its £75m All Saints business park in West Bromwich,
The scheme will be the first of its kind in the town, providing large-scale grade A office space.
Sandwell council has granted outline approval for the 245,000-sq ft first phase of the 270,000-sq ft scheme, which has been designed by Glenn Howells Architects.
The development is to be built in collaboration with the council, local regeneration company RegenCo, and the development agency Advantage West Midlands, which has committed £14m to the project.
The council has also approved the detailed planning application from Stoford for the 120,000-sq ft six-storey building that has already been pre-let to BT Liberata.
Demolition and clearance work is expected to begin at the end of spring on the brownfield site, recently vacated by Sandwell Homes’ depot.
Providing a regional business centre for BT and creating 450 jobs, the new BT Liberata building will be constructed to a BREEAM-‘excellent’ design, featuring a central atrium looking out on to a landscaped public square.
The plans extend to pedestrian and cycle links to the town and on to a proposed major new retail development anchored by a Tesco Extra store.
