Storms and smiles en route to MAPIC

Cycle-to-MAPIC-570px and even brighter smiles as 20 retail property experts coasted down the Croisette to the Palais des Festivals to finish their 450km pilgrimage to MAPIC. The ride, which raises money for children’s charity Coram, began in Milan on 16 November and followed the famous Milan to San Remo cycle race route before travelling up into the mountains for a descent into Cannes on 18 November. Riders this year had to contend with fierce storms through Italy, which led to road closures and some very soggy feet. Stuart Harris, first-time rider and co-founder of retail developer and asset manager Queensberry Real Estate, said: “What a fantastic experience. Having only bought a road bike four months ago, I turned up with equal measures of trepidation and excitement. From the superb support teams, the teamwork and camaraderie of the riders, to the storms that the Italian gods threw at us, I loved every minute. Bring on next year!”

CBRE UK managing director Ciaran Bird added: “We are extremely proud to be the main sponsors of the Cycle to MAPIC event. Not only was it for a worthwhile cause, it was an extremely memorable and challenging, albeit long, journey to Cannes!”
