Graham Stow has been appointed chairman of inward investment agency Instaffs.

The High Sherriff of Staffordshire, who has overseen the fortunes of supermarket chain Asda and more recently the Britannia Building Society, replaces Richard Barnes (former CFO of Waterford Wedgwood) who has stepped down after five years in the post.

Stow believes Instaffs has a dual role to continue working with all its partners, local authorities and the property industry to drive through all of the projects in the development pipeline and secondly to promote the opportunities outside of the region.

John de Kanter, Instaffs chief executive said: “Graham brings unrivalled experience of retail and professional services, two of the fastest growing sectors in the area.”
