Building Partnerships has submitted a planning application for phase two of Stowmarket Business & Enterprise Park in Suffolk.
The scheme, known as Stowmarket EAST, is expected to deliver a mixed-use business district over 54 acres. It will include buildings sized from 10,000 to 200,000 sq ft and design-and-build opportunities, in line with the 2017 local plan.
Outline planning permission has already been granted at the site for up to 530,000 sq ft of storage and distribution, manufacturing and office accommodation over 32 acres.
Stowmarket EAST is part of the wider 195-acre Stowmarket Business Park.
Will Mooney, partner, Carter Jonas, which is advising on the application and is the sales and letting agent, said: “There is pent-up demand for business space in Stowmarket and a significant lack of supply, with availability rates for industrial at a 10-year low.
“Interest has already been strong with several prelet enquiries from local, regional and national business across a variety of sectors. Enabling employment land to be released will in turn unlock additional economic growth. The construction phase of the development alone will deliver an estimated 200 or more jobs.”
