Amancio Ortega’s sister brand to Zara, Stradivarius, is opening its first shop in Wales at the St David’s Centre in Cardiff.
It has agreed a deal for a new 5,200 sq ft shop on a ten year lease. The store will be on the Upper Grand Arcade, opposite H&M, and is due to open in the spring.
Established in 1994, Stradivarius has grown into a multinational brand with stores in more than 60 countries around the world, and an online store stocking fashion-forward clothing, footwear and accessories.
Colin Flinn, the partnership’s regional managing director for the west at the St David’s Partnership, a joint venture between Landsec and intu, said: “The scheme attracts leading international and home-grown brands. Stradivarius is a key example of the appeal of St David’s as a high-performing location within the UK.”
Other recent fashion openings at St David’s in 2017 include Oliver Bonas, CK Underwear, Lovisa and Kids Around. Superdry also enhanced its St David’s store in autumn last year; it now features the brand’s first dedicated Superdry Sport entrance in the UK.
JLL and Cushman & Wakefield advised the St David’s Partnership; Stradivarius was unrepresented.
