Strettons has recruited Andrew Brown, the former head of relations at Auction House London.
Brown joins Strettons as a director and will add his significant industry experience to the team, working alongside auctioneer and director Philip Waterfield.
Strettons said Brown “will play a pivotal role assisting the business, introducing new initiatives to help the firm keep pace with the ever-changing auctions environment”.
During his 22-year career, Brown has conducted more than 300 auctions and sold in excess of £1bn of property from the rostrum. He has acted for a variety of banks, building societies, LPA receivers, insolvency practitioners, asset managers, local authorities and non-governmental organisations in the disposal of large residential and commercial portfolios and high-value distressed assets.
Brown joined Auction House London in 2017, having previously been a managing director at Countrywide Property Auctions and before then an associate director at Eddisons.
Brown said: “This is an exciting time to be joining the firm and I am looking forward to driving the growth of the Strettons auction brand. As a company, Strettons is building on its history and heritage and setting its sights firmly on future growth. The auction department will play a fundamental role in the firm continuing to thrive and I am looking forward to ensuring my experience contributes to the future success of Strettons.”
Last year Strettons undertook £64.8m of sales and now has more than 100 staff.
