Strong results push Berkeley into FTSE 100

Tony-Pidgley-THUMB.jpegBerkeley Group has moved into the FTSE 100 list of companies.

The house builder, led by chairman Tony Pidgley (pictured), replaced engineering group Weir in the index following a 36% rise in its share price this year, which now stands at £3.36p.

In its latest set of annual results, released in June, it reported a 30.8% increase in revenue to £2.1bn and a 40.9% increase in gross profit to £716.8m.
