Struggling Jack Wills chain to offload four stores to cut costs

Jack Wills has put four stores on the market as the preppy fashion retailer races to cut costs in its fight for survival.

The retailer is looking to assign leases to new tenants for its stores in Brighton, Chester and Worcester, in the hope of finding cheaper alternatives elsewhere in the cities. Jack Wills is also looking to sell the lease on its Cheltenham store.

“Getting rid of those will be very difficult,” a property agent said. “Why would another retailer want to pay those rents when other landlords have empty space nearby where they will get better terms?”
