Strutt & Parker’s Powell is latest to swap to H2SO niche start-up

Nick Powell has resigned from Strutt & Parker to join H2SO, the niche West End practice being set up by Paul Smith, David Hanrahan, John Olney and Rob Hayes.

Powell is head of professional and asset management at Strutts.

H2SO, which launches next month, will be based at 20 SavileRow, W1 – as revealed by EG (15 August, p18). It has taken a five-year lease on 2,000 sq ft of offices from the Pollen Estate.

Powell will join the new firm at the end of September.

Smith, a former Hodnett Martin Smith founding partner, quit DTZ in June to set up H2SO with King Sturge equity partner Hanrahan, Lewis Ellis partner Olney and CB Richard Ellis’sformer head of West End, Hayes.

Powell will be a non-equity partner, as will Helen Perrott, who also recently resigned from DTZ’s West End agency team to join the start-up.

Edward Betts, another member of DTZ’s West End agency team, will be the seventh member of H2SO.
