Magnetic has submitted plans to Newcastle city council for a new 305-bed student accommodation scheme on the site of the LQ nightclub.
The Ainsworth Spark Associated plans involve partial demolition of the 21,000 sq ft site at 49 New Bridge Street West.
Fifty cluster apartments would then be built across three seven-, nine- and 11-storey blocks, while the listed John Dobson House would be renovated and refurbished for leisure use.
