Ashville Properties has let the last available industrial building at phase two of the 7,896 sq m (84,995 sq ft) Ashville Park development in Wokingham, to Sun Microsystems.
The 2,259 sq m (24,316 sq ft) building has a 20-year lease, at a rent of £36 per sq m (£11 per sq ft). Sun will use the premises for the assembly of computer equipment and servers.
Will Wright, development director at Ashville, said: “We are obviously delighted to welcome Sun Microsystems to Ashville Park, especially given the problems facing this sector at the moment.”
“With a lot of tech companies looking at their Thames Valley space requirements closely at the moment, it is good to see that there is still demand for space from this sector.”
This letting leaves just one unit of around 801 sq m (8,622 sq ft) remaining at phase one at Ashville Park, following previous lettings to Overland Data, EAF (UK) and SCM Microsystems.
Strutt & Parker and Fryer Gilbert & Jepps advised Ashville Properties on the disposal, while CB Hillier Parker advised Sun Microsystems.
