The Government Property Unit is exploring options to sell or redevelop its 65-acre Sunningdale Park in Ascot, Berkshire.
The site, run by hotelier and conference group De Vere on a PFI contract until 2017, was formerly home to the National School of Government.
Gerald Eve is understood to have been appointed to explore options for the park, which includes a Grade II listed neo-Georgian mansion called Northcote House.
The park is expected to fetch upwards of £40m and is likely to be sold as a luxury residential redevelopment opportunity.
