The backlash is growing over the selection of Manchester for Britain’s first supercasino.
Richard Caborn, minister for gambling, told a Lords select committee he was “reasonably content” with the performance of the Casino Advisory Panel (CAP) which made the recommendation.
One expert accused the CAP of basing its “highly disputable” conclusions on “frequently inconsistent, superficial and ill-informed” reasoning.
