Fashion retailer Superdry is to open at Capital Shopping Centres’ The Glades in Bromley, Kent, in June.
The fashion brand, part of the retail firm SuperGroup, has secured a 7,300 sq ft store adjacent to Debenhams. It was formerly occupied by New Look, which relocated to a new, larger store of 17,100 sq ft within the centre last November. Superdry has also taken the adjoining shop after CSC combined the stores to provide a larger space.
The opening is part of a wider strategy by CSC to increase the fashion focus within the upper mall south section of The Glades.
Jonathan Ainsley, asset management director south at CSC, said: “Superdry is a welcome addition to the retail mix within The Glades. Together with the newly upsized New Look store, the letting to Superdry is evidence of the success achieved in strengthening the fashion offer within the upper mall.”
SuperGroup’s founding partner and CEO, Julian Dunkerton, said: “The Glades is a great retail centre and we’re proud to be opening here. As with all of our stores, a great deal of work and creativity have gone into its design and fitting out and we are optimistic that it will prove a hit with local shoppers.”
Lunson Mitchenall and Strutt and Parker represented CSC; Superdry was represented by Jones Lang LaSalle.
