City surveyor Ted Hartill has been appointed to the council of the University of London.
He will sit on the estates committee for a five-year tenure, joining property developer David Goldstone, who is due to stand down in a year or so.
The committee oversees property assets including the Grade II* listed Senate House and freeholds for some of the 19 colleges in the university and halls of residence.
Hartill, who is a University of London graduate, chairs Asset Skills, a company seeking accreditation as a sector skills council to advise the government on training.
