Surveyors on short list of Manchester international design competition

Two of the five consortia on the short list to rebuild the Manchester city centre include surveying firms.

Donaldsons has teamed up with Building Design Partnership. While DTZ Debenham Thorpe is part of the group led by architects and planners Llewelyn Davies. The other members of this consortium are: Michael Hyde & Associates; JMP Consultants; Derek Lovejoy Partnership and Roger Tym & Partners.

The other teams on the short list are:

  • Halliday Meecham in association with Richard Reid Associates.
  • EDAW; Simpson Associates; Benoy; and Alan Baxter.
  • R James Chapman, with Mills Beaumont Leavey; OMI Architects; Gillespies; Ove Arup & Partners; Benjamin Thompson Associates; Professor Ian Taylor; and Professor Brian Robson.

There were 27 entries in stage 1 of the Manchester Millennium competition. Entries from the short listed teams are due by 18 October, and the winner will be announced in the first week of November.
