A team of six property surveyors will compete in the Marathon des Sables, the toughest footrace on earth, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Harry Foster, Landsec; Harry Badham and James Goldsmith, both AXA Investment Management; Hunter Booth, Savills; Toby Chapman, JLL; and Ralph Dorey, CBRE, will take part in the 33rd series of the pursuit in the Sahara desert on 6 April.
They will run the equivalent of six marathons over six days in up to 50C heat carrying all of their own kit and food on their backs.
The team started training for the event last September by completing the Richmond Marathon and will also take part in the Country to Capital trail run, Pilgrim’s Challenge and the Birling Gap Sussex ultra-marathon before the ultimate desert challenge.

Breslauer steals a march on France for charity
Last month, Keith Breslauer, managing director of Patron Capital, took part in the re-enactment of the Frankton 75 challenge – the World War II commando raid on Bordeaux – on behalf of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust.
Along with 30 injured and able-bodied veterans, Breslauer canoed 85 miles up the Gironde estuary, then marched more than 100 miles to Ruffec, in south-west France.
The challenge raised funds and awareness for the Royal Marines Charity, which provides support for wounded, injured or sick serving and former Royal Marines.

Planting this number of trees in London will deliver all kinds of benefits.”
