Sussex Cricket Club may relocate from Hove to Falmer

The Sussex county cricket ground at Hove may go into partnership with Brighton and Hove Albion football club and relocate to Falmer on land owned by the local council.

The Hove ground is badly in need of refurbishment. The roofs leak, there is limited car parking and the stands only narrowly meet safety requirements. However, plans for redevelopment have been put on hold by the new committee.

Meanwhile, Glamorgan cricket club is currently redeveloping its ground at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. Hampshire is about to relocate to a new stadium outside Southampton. Northampton is building an indoor school on a neighbouring ex-football pitch.
