Swindon business park tipped to be National Trust HQ

The National Trust is tipped to take a large slice of St Martins Property’s Windmill Hill Business Park in Swindon.

Kuwaiti-owned St Martins has won consent to extend the 700,000 sq ft (65,030 sq m) speculative scheme with a further 90,000 sq ft (8,361 sq m) of offices in two buildings.

The new buildings will be the first phase of a 208,000 sq ft (19,323 sq m) pavilion office extension to the park.

The decision to speculatively develop the first phase has led to suggestions that the site is being lined up as an HQ for the National Trust, which announced in October that it plans to move from London to Swindon.

It has a 60,000 sq ft requirement through DTZ. The park’s other occupiers include Cable & Wireless and Lucent Technologies.
