Swinton Insurance has completed a deal to lease all 165,000 sq ft of office space at Ask Real Estate, Carillion and Tristan Capital Partners’ 101 Embankment in Salford, Greater Manchester.
In what represents the city’s largest office letting this year, the deal will see more than 1,000 employees relocate to Embankment from existing city centre sites on Whitworth Street and Great Marlborough Street.
Quoting rents at 101 Embankment, which topped out in March, are £28.50 per sq ft. The scheme was delivered in partnership with Salford City Council and Network Rail. Planning consent for the second phase of the scheme, 100 Embankment, was granted in July.
Swinton originally appointed WHR Property on a 60,000 sq ft requirement for its contact centre. However, it later decided to take the entire building amid interest from rival occupiers including the Department for Work and Pensions.
