The Gherkin, Swiss Re’s 591ft (180m)-high headquarters, at 30 St Mary Axe, London, is due to open today.
Building began on the 40-storey tower on the site of the old Baltic Exchange after winning planning permission in August 2000.
The property has been variously dubbed the Erotic Gherkin and the Towering Innuendo.
