Symonds & Sampson sale cultivates £4m

 


Buyer demand for agricultural land and farm sites with potential­ pushed receipts to £4.3m at Symonds & Sampson’s auction.


Some 21 of 25 lots sold at Sherborne’s Diggby Hall on 30 September, reflecting an 84% success rate.


Highlights included a farm in need of renovation in Hermitage, Dorset, which sold for its guide price of £750,000. The buyer also paid a further £800,000 for almost 10 hectares of adjoining land.


Two bare agricultural land sites in Okeford Fitzpaine, Dorset, sold for well above their guides. The first, a 2.9-acre site, guided at £25,000, made £43,000, while the second, a 9-acre site, guided at £50,000, sold for £95,000.
