Taylor Wimpey approved for 750-flat Score Centre resi

Taylor Wimpey, in partnership with Waltham Forest, has been given to the green light to develop 750 homes in Leyton.

The Score Centre redevelopment on Oliver Road in Leyton will see 50% affordable housing delivered, with 272 intermediate homes and 86 low cost rental homes.

The scheme will comprise five blocks of between 3 to 18 storeys in height. It includes a health centre, replacement sports and leisure centre and community space, to replace the current facilities.

Waltham Forest planning committee met at the council chambers, with seven members of the public attending in person under social distancing measures and some 45 watching virtually via MS Teams. Attempts to stream the committee on YouTube were not successful.
