Taylor Wimpey buys Galliard Homes development in Oxfordshire

Taylor Wimpey has acquired a freehold development in Oxfordshire from a consortium led by Galliard Homes

Knight Frank advised the sellers on the unconditional sale of the 14-acre site at Thames Farm in Harpsden, Oxfordshire.

The development was sold with outline planning permission for 95 residential units, of which 40% will be affordable, in a mix of one-bedroom apartments and three-, four- and five-bedroom houses, with associated public open space and landscaping.

James Barton, residential development partner at Knight Frank, said: “This is an exceptional housing-led development opportunity, in an area where there has historically been a real lack of good quality development land.”

The site currently comprises a field that was previously used for agriculture as part of Thames Farm. It is located within the administrative border of South Oxfordshire Council, and is connected to Reading Road (A4155) on the eastern side.
