Taylor Woodrow/Belvedere win £26m office scheme consent

Taylor Woodrow Property (TWP) and local developer Belvedere Smith have won planning consent for a £26m office project at London Road in Camberley, Surrey.

The 0.9ha (2.3-acre) scheme comprises two buildings providing 3,437 sq m (37,000 sq ft) and 4,199 sq m (45,198 sq ft) and 280 car-parking spaces.

The redevelopment of the Academy Inn hotel site and adjacent car showroom on London road includes a link road between the A30 and Tuscam Way, offering an alternative to the Blackwater Relief Road in the York Town area of Camberley.

James Henderson, director of TWP, said: “This is the third development TWP will have been involved with in Camberley in recent years, reflecting the success of the town as an office location.”

Elsewhere in the area, TWP has a 4,780 sq m (51,100 sq ft) office scheme in Frimley, funded by Abbey Life, close to the 3,019 sq m (32,500 sq ft) Quatro scheme let to Regus last year.

TWP has a commercial property development totalling 510,950 sq m (5.5m sq ft) with an end value of £800m. In the first half of this year, it bought 12 sites including several in central Scotland from Scottish Enterprise.
