TBI buys Belfast airport for £72m and plans further regional airport acquisitions
Property group TBI has bought Belfast International Airport for £72m from a three-man team which led a £48m management buyout two years ago. TBI chief executive Keith Brooks is keen to acquire more regional airports. The company is already negotiating to buy another one. The company bought Cardiff Airport for £37.7m last year. This latest deal is being financed partly by the issue of new shares to existing management and a placing with institutions at 70p a share.
