TBI is talking to Bombardier of Canada about buying and closing down Belfast City Airport.
Analysts believe TBI is slowly leaving the property sector in favour of transport.
Its best performance came from its airports division in the first half and accounted for more than two-thirds of pretax profits up 23% to £17.3m.
No new investments outside of the airports sector were made. It sold 12 properties for £44m – a profit of £4.9m.
