Property and airports group TBI has submitted a planning application for over 148,640 sq m (1.6m sq ft) of retail, industrial and office development at Belfast International Airport.
The £100m scheme includes proposals for a call-centre park, Northern Ireland’s first factory outlet village, and freight, cargo, storage, warehousing and distribution facilities.
TBI is also considering building aircraft maintenance facilities, research and development units, as well as offices.
Keith Brooks, chief executive of TBI, said: “As a company with expertise in both property development and airports, we are ideally placed to ensure that this development at BIA fills the need of the local community and potential tenants.”
TBI’s plans centre on non-operational land it owns around the airport. The scheme is aimed at occupiers whose businesses is either airport-related or who would benefit from proximity to the airport.
The developer acquired the airport last year for around £100m.
