Tchenguiz and Chelsfield Partners may enter bidding for City airport

Robert Tchenguiz ,the property entrepreneur, and Chelsfield Partners, are considering entering the bidding battle for London’s City airport.

The airport was put for sale last month on behalf of Dermot Desmond, the Dublin financier, through Morgan Stanley.

Transport analysts said that because City is unregulated it would be possible to close down the airport and transform the prime land into another Canary Wharf.
