Tchenguiz launches court action against Westminster Council

Property tycoon Robert Tchenguiz is embroiled in a High Court dispute with Westminster City Council over traffic management orders which he claims significantly restrict access to his South Kensington home.

The traffic management orders impact the roads around the Royal Albert Hall, which is close to Tchenguiz’s home.

The council said it had taken essential steps to guard against “vehicle-borne terrorist attacks” in the area by “removing parked vehicles” from the “lengths of road immediately adjacent” to the Royal Albert Hall.

Tzenguiz has now asked the court to intervene and quash the traffic management orders.

The hearing, which began on Thursday, is expected to continue today.
