Tech accelerator expands at Edinburgh Technopole

Ingenza has doubled up on its existing space at Pioneer Group’s Edinburgh Technopole.

The contract research, development and manufacturing organisation and tech accelerator will relocate to the Moubray building on the campus from the nearby Roslin Innovation Centre in Q2 2025 following a multi-million-pound investment into the fit-out. It has signed a 10-year lease on 25,000 sq ft to expand its fermentation and research facilities.

Jaymin Amin, chief business officer at Ingenza, said: “The expansion is a landmark investment for Ingenza, enabling us to increase our fermentation scale to 100L, as well as expanding our research and development labs to support larger programmes.

“Our inGenius™ platform technology is redefining drug substance development and sustainable biotech manufacturing, and this move will provide an independent, world-class facility to better serve customers worldwide, accelerating our business growth.”

John Mackenzie, director for Scotland at Pioneer, added: “Ingenza’s growth is positive for our local life sciences cluster, being an exemplar Pioneer model of local economic development, partnership and impact that will accelerate scientific discovery.”

The 126-acre campus, spanning 108,000 sq ft across 10 buildings, forms part of Pioneer’s portfolio of 12 life sciences hubs in the UK.
