ANS Group has been selected as the data centre tenant for 20,000 sq ft at Manchester council’s The Sharp Project media and digital hub.
The company has the option to take an additional 20,000 sq ft in the building, which would create a 1,600-rack facility.
ANS Group has agreed a 15-year lease, and plans to invest £8m in the centre over the next three years.
It will house the firm’s National Cloud Infrastructure and Desktop service as well as secure co-location facilities to house computer systems, data storage and associated components, such as telecommunication systems.
CBRE acted for the council; ANS was unrepresented.
