Ted Baker to open in Knightsbridge

British fashion label Ted Baker’s retail space has climbed 7.3% to 240,001 sq ft, with a new London store set to bolster its property portfolio further.

The retailer today said average retail space rose 7.3% in the eight weeks to 7 January, from 223,623 sq ft in the same period last year. Sales also rose 15.7%.

Ted Baker also revealed it will open a store in Brompton Road, SW3, in May. A 12,000 sq ft flagship store at 595 Fifth Avenue in New York will also open this summer, and its first stores in Beijing and Tokyo will launch in June.

“During the course of 2011 we further developed our international presence through wholesale, licensing and our new retail stores and concessions, which have continued to build momentum during the period,” the company said.
