Telecoms giants head for Thames Valley offices

Two Telcoms giants are planning to take up offices in the Thames Valley region as a consequence of the £22.5bn mobile phone licences’ auction.

Hutchinson is to take up 10,400 sq m (112,000 sq ft) of offices at Castlemore’s Grenfell Island scheme in Maidenhead. The town centre scheme is understood to be under offer at a rent of around £35 per sq ft (£376.70 per sq m).

But the deal has been trumped by Motorola, which has secured a lock-out agreement until the end of September on 46,450 sq m (500,000 sq ft) at an unknown site in the South East, for its new European HQ.
