Telent extends lease at Warwick’s Opus 40

Communications support services provider Telent has extended its lease at Opus Land’s Opus 40 business park in Warwick, Warwickshire.

Telent took occupation of the refurbished 85,000 sq ft Point 3 office building on a 10-year lease in April 08. Around 450 staff relocated to the building from the firm’s former premises in Coventry.

Despite the economic downturn, the expanding telecoms specialist has confirmed it wants to add a further five years to its tenancy taking the lease expiry date to 2023.

Opus director Richard Smith said: “Telent’s lease extension is an unequivocal demonstration of its commitment to the location.”

Point 3 also provides expansion space for Telent should the company need it in the future.

Opus 40 currently comprises three separate office buildings totalling 280,000 sq ft of space on a 35-acre campus. The two other properties, which have a combined area of 194,000 sq ft, are let to IBM.

Opus has retained some 15 acres of development land and is currently seeking planning consent to further develop the site with up to 300,000 sq ft of additional space.

Joint letting agents are GVA Grimley and D & P Holt.
