Telford industrial plan unveiled

shed.jpegThe Homes and Communities Agency has unveiled plans for a major industrial and warehouse development in Telford, Shropshire.

A planning application has been submitted to Telford & Wrekin council to build either one 640,000 sq ft mega-shed, or two warehouse units of around 300,000 sq ft each, at the Telford 54 site.

The scheme is known as Titan 640 and, according to Lambert Smith Hampton, which is advising the HCA jointly with local agent Bulleys, is a collaboration between the landowner HCA and Telford & Wrekin council.

Nick Bird, area manager for the HCA, Midlands, said: “The HCA works closely with Telford council to ensure that our considerable land portfolio is managed and developed to help fulfill local housing need and economic development goals. With Titan we have an opportunity to bring to the market, this year, a build-ready site for large footprint development, complementing the run of land sales and development that is underway on the smaller plots at T54 business park.”

Telford 54 is a 78-acre site located close to Stafford Park, one of Telford’s major industrial estates. The site lies next to the A464 less than a mile from junction 4 of the M54 motorway, linking to the M6, and close to central Telford, which is undergoing a £250m pound reinvestment as part of the Southwater programme.

A planning decision is due in early autumn 2015.
